Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the SquadFinder desktop application and the website squadfinder.net (together, the "Service"), operated by Wacsys ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

SquadFinder is a matchmaking platform for gamers. It lets you create a profile, indicate the games you play, discover other players, match, chat and talk via voice. The core Service is free of charge.

2. Eligibility & your account

• You must be at least 16 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use the Service.
• You must provide accurate information when registering and verify your email address.
• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity on your account.
• One account per person. Accounts may not be sold, traded or transferred.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• harass, threaten, discriminate against or abuse other users;
• post unlawful, hateful, sexually explicit or otherwise inappropriate content;
• impersonate others or misrepresent your identity;
• spam, advertise or solicit other users commercially;
• attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts or our infrastructure;
• use bots, scrapers or other automated means to access the Service.

We may remove content, suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, at our sole discretion and without prior notice.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of the content you submit (profile photo, messages, profile details). By submitting content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, store, display and transmit that content solely to operate the Service. You are responsible for the content you share; do not share content you have no right to share.

5. SquadFinder Premium

• SquadFinder Premium is an optional paid subscription (€4.99 per month, including applicable VAT) that adds cosmetic and visibility perks such as a PRO badge, priority placement and exclusive app themes.
• Payments are processed by our merchant of record, Paddle. Paddle handles payment, invoicing, applicable taxes and their own buyer terms. Paddle's Checkout Buyer Terms apply to your purchase.
• The subscription renews automatically every month until cancelled. You can cancel at any time; your perks remain active until the end of the paid period.
• Refunds are handled as described in our Refund Policy.
• We may change Premium pricing or perks; existing subscribers will be informed in advance and may cancel before a change takes effect.

6. Availability & changes

We aim to keep the Service available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may modify, suspend or discontinue (parts of) the Service. We may update the app automatically to deliver fixes and improvements.

7. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. Upon termination, sections that by their nature should survive (e.g. limitations of liability) remain in effect.

8. Disclaimer & limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Interactions with other users are your own responsibility — we do not screen users and are not a party to interactions between users. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including under mandatory consumer protection rules.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Belgium. Mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence remain unaffected. Disputes will be submitted to the competent courts of Belgium, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.

10. Contact

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will announce material changes in the app or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
